Old-Green-Grasshopper vs. real grasshopper
Compare and contrast the similarities and differences between the Old-Green-Grasshopper from "James and the Giant Peach" and a real grasshopper. Write 6-8 sentences comparing the grasshoppers.
The real grasshoppers chirp. The Old Green Grasshopper sounds like a violin. Both Grasshoppers have walking legs. Both grasshoppers have compound eyes. The Old Greenhopper can talk. Both Grasshoppers have Antennae. All Grasshoppers are members of the Group Orthoptrea. Both grasshoppers make noises by rubbing a leg against the body.
Real grasshoppers have a belly and antennae, wings, eyes, and long jumping legs. There are different kinds of grasshoppers that can do other things. The Old -Green-Grasshopper makes the sound like a violin. The Old-Green-Grasshopper is long. Real green grasshoppers are tiny. Both of them make noise with their wings.
I have worked as an educator for students with special needs for nine years. Assistive technology tools can bring out the best in people by eliminating barriers. I hope to continue to explore technology as well as learn from others to assist students and families.
