Describe the emotions James is feeling in chapters 1-3 in James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl. What are the causes of these emotions?

James' aunts call him names. That makes him sad. Aunt Spiker and Aunt Sponge make James work. James is sad. James is not allowed to have friends. James feels lonely. James' parents died. That makes him angry. James is not allowed to play. He feels depressed.

James feels sad because his aunts do not let him play with other kids. All he does is chores. Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker call him names. They say he is a "lazy brute". It makes James feel sad. James is depressed because is parents died.
